Dear Parents/Guardians,
A. WELCOME
1. Welcome back to a great & exciting new year 2012. A special welcome to all our new students and parents joining us in 2012.
2. A new year depicts a new beginning and new resolutions & I pray that this new year SAS will continue to soar in academic excellence and yet maintaining a strong character development program! Our character values program falls in line with our mission statement :
Vision : *Impacting and transforming lives, contributing positively to society.
Mission : *To promote quality holistic education with diverse learning opportunities for students to enable them to reach their full potential in pursuit of excellence.
*To develop upright character by instilling integrity, mutual respect and tolerance for others.
3. To all teachers and staff, parents and students of St Andrew’s School, may our Character Values program be the basis of growth and edge as we prepare our students to be the dynamic individuals in society.

Donations in cash from students and parents are most welcome. The money can be handed in to the class teachers from 9 to 14 January 2012 and this money will be presented to Bahagian Pendidikan Swasta.
E. VOLUNTARY SERVICES
We welcome and appeal to all parents who wish to support and assist in the activities of the school to approach the administrators, teachers and staff of the school. This can be in the form of helping to coach the students in competitions, games, sports, academic or other school-related functions. You can also support the school by helping to finance and run some of the projects or facilities. We welcome ideas and suggestions on how to improve the school environment. We look forward to your support in any aspect which you think you can be of assistance to help the children of the school.
To start with, please fill in the form below to indicate the area you prefer to assist. Your kind co- operation and assistance will be highly valued. Together, hand-in-hand, we will be able to keep the school flag flying high.
F. REMINDERS :
1. Parents are reminded of the 85% attendance. Non-compliance of the 85% attendance could mean the retention of your child in the same level .
2. School fees must be settled during the 1st 5 working days of each month or else your child will be suspended from school (after three reminders). Parents who have failed to settle your children’s school fees in the final days of December will not find your children’s names in the 2012 class list.
3. Parents must submit a 3-month written notice to notify the school authority if you wish to withdraw your child/children from the school (even with a possible transfer to Ugama/Arab School or transfer to other schools within the country or transfer aboard) even if the pending withdrawal is made at the end of the year. Failure to send in the 3 months’ written notice will result in the non- issuance of leaving certificate and other documents and a forfeiture of deposit/a penalty imposed for the non-receipt of notice.
4. Parking spaces in the school compound (with car numbers written in the spaces) are reserved for teachers/staff of the school. Parents are requested to park outside the school compound along the main road when you send your child to the school (especially Kindergarten and Yr 1 to 3). From Yr 4 to Sec 5, please drop your child near the gate or near the 1st U-turn inside the school compound so as to ease the traffic congestion inside the school, especially during peak hours. We have employed two traffic wardens to direct the traffic from 11.30 am to 1.00 pm during school days.
5. All students and parents are encouraged to read the school rules found in the school organizer which is sold from January 2012 onwards. All students from Yr 3 upwards to Yr 11 must purchase a copy of the 2012 school organizer for ensuring proper recording of work, abiding by the stated rules, and following the schedule of the school calendar. Students should purchase the organizers through their class teachers.
6. Students are geared to be disciplined, self learners as we embark on SPN21 curiculum. “BAT” (Business, Art and Technology) and Social Studies are new subjects to be taught in 2012 to all Yr 7 students and SBAfL will begin from Yr 4 level. We ask parents for your patience, & understanding as we manage the implementation of a new curriculum into these two levels.
7. Finally, as we embark on a new year 2012, we seek parents’ co-operation to be patient and understanding in all aspects of your child’s education. Please approach the class teacher directly or HoS/DP if there are any grievances. Any written complaints will only be entertained when their name are stated in full and the class your child is at. At times, we do apologise for the incidental errors but in most cases, we do have your child’s best interest at heart and we work hard towards inculcating a positive learning attitude from our students.
With courage and love, may St Andrew’s School stand tall and strong holistically and bear bountiful fruits of success.
Yours sincerely,
JANE KEASBERRY
